Altruwisdom: Integrating Maschine with Logic

In this installment of my series “Altruwisdom”, I’m providing Native Instruments Maschine users with some tips and tricks on how to integrate Maschine with Logic Pro. This video demystifies Logic’s environment section to help Maschine users achieve a more efficient work flow.

Altruwest, been quiet for a while, so you must be busy. Hope you are well. I watched your vid/tutorial on integrating maschine and logic, and noticed you had reason on you computer. I have been trying to figure this out for a while now with no luck, so I figured I would ask you. I learned how (it’s easy) to sequence reason using maschine. What I am trying to figure out how to do is record or sample reason’s output back into maschine. Using soundflower, I was able to sample the combined output of reason and maschine into a sound slot, but not the reason’s output alone. In other words, I want to sample reason’s output by itself in a maschine sound slot. I have an audio kontrol 1 and an apogee one to work with if that helps. It would be so great to use reason as a sound module in maschine. I have so many great sounds I could use. Any help would be appreciated. I have tried to get some help from the forums, but no luck so far.
    Thanks,
    Hiphopblues

How do we go about having logic control machines effects and parameters (i.e. record/trigger effect parameters)?

Thanks ALot for this I was messing up my workflow and not getting the most of the maschine by doing the way I was. You Have stepped my game up. Thanks
If you Need any help with anything let me know.

  14. Buenodidit says:

Thanks a lot man. Like smitty said, my workflow def stepped up. 1 question though. How do you go about routing the drums on each midi channel to a different mixer track so that you can mix them indivdually? Or do you just continue to mix them in the maschine?

  15. Smitty Black says:

Thanks for the info this increased and my workflo 100 fold I was still switching back and forth using drag and drop

  16. Hdot says:

I know this is a reach since you use Logic, but how can this be done in Pro Tools 8? I’m having a difficult time trying to get PT to “see” Maschine as a midi instrument in the setup. Any suggestions? Peace.
